CFPB Report: 2017-IT-C-010 May 22, 2017
The CFPB's website, consumerfinance.gov, is critical to the success of the agency's mission. Through it, consumers submit financial complaints and find educational resources, while financial entities learn about laws and regulations.
Although the CFPB has taken a number of positive steps to secure its website, we found several control deficiencies that the agency should mitigate to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of consumerfinance.gov and the information it contains.
Our report includes recommendations to address these findings. Given the sensitivity of information security reviews, this report is restricted.
