The Board's Protective Services Unit provides for the physical security of the Chair. The PSU's mission includes using an experienced and highly trained staff, a full array of protection measures, and active planning and coordination with intelligence sources and law enforcement.
We found PSU operations to be effective; efficient; and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures. Our review covered mission-critical operations involving hiring, inventory, qualifications and training, incident reporting, travel transactions, scheduling and timekeeping, and continuity of operations. We also determined that the PSU provides the Chair with an appropriate level of security consistent with that for Cabinet-level agency heads.
